TAX CLERK

Tax Clerk

South Orange Village (Essex County) s currently accepting applications for a part-time clerk in the Tax Collector’s office. The duties of this position include but are not limited to: submitting requisitions and managing purchase orders, maintaining spreadsheets, posting entries into cashbooks/ledgers, maintaining files and records for accuracy, processing payments on occasion, and performing related duties as required in a timely fashion. Candidate must be able to learn quickly, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform independently in an active office environment while maintaining composure. Prior tax or finance office experience is preferred but not required. At least four years of cash handling and customer service experience is required. TAX COLLECTOR

Deputy Tax Collector-Hopewell

Deputy Tax Collector-Full-Time – Hopewell Township (Mercer) seeks a highly responsible and service-orientated person to join a vibrant municipal department. The ideal candidate will have Certified Tax Collector certification and a minimum of 2 years experience in tax collection. Functions include but are not limited to assisting the Tax Collector with all matters concerning the tax collection and acting in the role of Tax Collector in the absence of the Tax Collector. The Deputy Tax Collector shall ensure compliance with all statutes, rules, regulations and directives pertaining to municipal tax collection. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Edmunds, BRT, utility collection, and PILOT experience preferred. Salary DOQ. Tax &Sewer Collector

Tax and Sewer Collector (PT/FT) – Borough of Fanwood (Union County)
The Borough of Fanwood is seeking an organized, experienced professional, with a background in Municipal Government for the position of Certified Tax Collector. Interested applicants must possess a Municipal Tax Collector Certification and have at least five years of experience in a New Jersey Tax Collector’s office. Previous experience with the Edmunds program is also required. The Tax Collector shall be responsible for lien enforcement, tax collecting, sewer utility, tax billing and reporting, in addition to all the statutory duties required by NJ law. CFO

Assistant Director of Finance - Township of Middletown, Monmouth County

 

Middletown Township in Monmouth County is seeking a full time Assistant Director of Finance. The Assistant Director shall work in conjunction with and under the direction of the Director of Finance/CFO. In the absence of the Director/CFO, the Assistant shall perform all the duties of the Director of Finance/CFO. Applicants must have strong management, math and analytical skills with a professional demeanor. Duties are to include annual operating and capital budget preparation and maintenance, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, cash management, assistance with auditors, management of the grant, capital and trust funds, day to day supervision of staff, special projects, and other related duties as deemed necessary. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong communication and outstanding analytical skills with understanding of and compliance with duties and requirements provided by NJ law, and all DCA and DLGS directives. Additionally, they must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Edmunds Financial Software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Outlook, Word and Primepoint software is a plus. Interested applicants must possess current, valid CMFO certification and have at least five years of supervisory experience in a NJ municipal finance office. There is a strong preference for those with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or business. Competitive salary commensurate with knowledge and experience.
